Spanish Language Courses

Spanish Language CoursesSpanish Language Courses: What is available?

You have decided to learn Spanish. Good for you! You are well on your way to becoming much more valuable. But where do you start? A lot depends on your money, time, and learning ability. Some Spanish language course options include one on one tutoring, college courses, immersion and online courses.

Spanish Language Courses: One-on-one Tutoring

Probably the most expensive way to learn Spanish. The tutors are normally paid by the hour. Doesn’t seem like there would be any incentive to get you trained in a hurry. But you would surely get the individual attention that may help you learn the language faster and better. If you do decide to go with this plan you may be able to find a college student that would work for a lower rate. This could represent quite a savings.

Spanish Language Courses: Local College Courses

I would say that just about all colleges today offer a Spanish language course. And most would have some night classes available that may fit your schedule better. Of course the disadvantage is that you would have to attend when they are holding the classes. You would also be responsible to get there and back. Also pricey, but not as pricey as the one on one tutor!

Spanish Language Courses: Immersion

This would be without a doubt the most fun way to learn any language. You actually go to the country where they speak the language and live. You would “immerse” yourself into their culture. Not only would it be fun, but it would be fast. Obviously this would be for someone with no commitments. You could actually get a job and work your way through your learning experience.

And there are schools set up just for this type of experience. Here are a few examples of the types of programs that they offer:

  • Intensive course—four classes per day for 1-21 plus weeks
  • Super intensive course—six classes per day for 1-21 plus weeks
  • One to one—designed for those with a limited time frame.
  • Spanish talk—two hours of daily conversation
  • Spanish for life—designed for those with time on their hands who wish to get the most of their Spanish language courses.
  • Groups/Study Travel—this is a course for those who wish to study and travel around Spain.
  • Youth program—for anyone under 18, these classes are intermixed with Spanish students.

Spanish Language Courses: On Line Software

This is probably the most widely used method. This is why there are so many on line courses available. The reason they are so popular is that they are very inexpensive, easy to use, convenient, and you can set your own pace and work when you want. You can even listen to the lessons on your commute to work. The bad thing is that with so many choices, how do you decide? We have looked at the courses available and narrowed down the choices for you. See our review at “Best Spanish Learning Software Reviews“.

Spanish Language Courses: The Bottom Line

There are a lot of variables. If you are young, single, and have no commitments immersion would be a fantastic way to learn the language and the culture to get the best experience. But unfortunately most of us have commitments and this would not be an option. Some do better in a structured classroom atmosphere. Most people like the flexibility of an on line software course that is inexpensive and lets you learn at the speed and time that is convenient for you.

Whichever method that you choose, you will still be rewarded with the fact that you are going to be a more valuable person. You will be giving yourself the advantage in life and on your job. Enjoy your new found second language!
